Tyland Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist Church, associated with the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention. We subscribe to the doctrinal statement of "The Baptist Faith and Message" as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention of 1963.
Our motto at Tyland Baptist Church is "You are Loved!" Visit us once and you'll see that we mean just that!
The average attendance of our Sunday morning worship is approximately 50 people, and the format of our worship is what might be considered as traditional. By "traditional," we mean that we use a piano, organ, and guitar, and we sing from The Baptist Hymnal.
We offer age-graded Sunday school, with adult co-ed, men's, and women's classes available. Nursery is available on Sunday Mornings for "church members in training!" On Wednesday nights, we engage in a "deeper dive" study on topics all across the range of Christian studies.
Brother David preaches (almost exclusively) from the New King James Bible, the same translation that can be found in the pews.
The preaching passage on Sunday mornings is usually from the New Testament, and Sunday evening preaching almost always comes from the Old Testament. Wednesday night service is devoted to prayer and historical study. In this way, we believe we are declaring "the whole counsel of God" (Acts 20:27).
Our facilities are virtually new. Our first service in our building was held on June 26, 2011, due to our previous building having been completely destroyed by arson in 2010. Our new building has the feel of a comfortable, warm church, with all the modern technology of the 21st century. We love this house and feel extremely blessed to occupy it. We hope you'll feel the same.
At Tyland Baptist Church, we are very concerned about world, state, and local missions, and we support the IMB and the NAMB through the Southern Baptist Convention, as well as spending time in prayer for missions, and the study of missions awareness.
Lee Richards is our Song Leader and is responsible for our choir, special music, and special singing fellowships. Lee is also an accomplished guitar player, often performing the special music during worship.
Scott Moore is our Pastor.
