About Tyland Baptist Church
Tyland Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist Church, associated with the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention. We subscribe to the doctrinal statement of "The Baptist Faith and Message" as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention of 1963.
Our motto at Tyland Baptist Church is "You are Loved!" Visit us once and you'll see that we mean just that!
Attendance and Worship Style
The have a varying attendance of our Sunday School and morning worship, and the format of our worship is what might be considered as traditional. By "traditional," we mean that we use a piano, organ, and occasionally a guitar, and we sing from The Baptist Hymnal.
We offer age-graded Sunday school, with adult co-ed, men's, and women's classes available. Nursery is available on Sunday Mornings for "church members in training!" Currently not having midweek Bible study.
Bible
Brother Scott preaches from the New King James Bible. The preaching at Tyland is not just a passive experience; it is an invitation to embark on a journey of discovery and transformation.
Each sermon is carefully crafted from the timeless wisdom of God's word, aiming to illuminate the path of righteousness and understanding. The messages are not mere lectures but are living dialogues that encourage every listener to engage deeply with the scriptures. The congregation is encouraged to be like the Bereans of old, who diligently examined the scriptures to verify the teachings they received. Facilities
Our facilities are in excellent condition. We held our first service in the new building on June 26, 2011, after our previous location was completely destroyed by arson in 2010. Our current building combines the cozy, welcoming atmosphere of a traditional church. We are truly grateful to call this place home and hope you will feel the same warmth and blessing when you visit.
Ministries
At Tyland Baptist Church, we are very concerned about world, state, and local missions, and we support the IMB and the NAMB through the Southern Baptist Convention, as well as spending time in prayer for missions, and the study of missions awareness.
Staff
Scott Moore serves as our Pastor at Tyland Baptist Church, where he and his wife, Mindy, have been members since October 2024. With a passion for preaching and teaching the Word of God, Brother Scott has dedicated his life to sharing his faith and love for people. His genuine compassion and commitment to service are evident in every facet of his life, reflecting his deep dedication to the Lord, his family, and the broader community. Brother Scott is devoted to spreading the Gospel message of faith and love, inspiring all those around him.
Lee Richards serves as our Song Leader and is responsible for our choir, special music, and special singing fellowships. Lee is also an accomplished guitar player, often performing the special music during worship.
