(This is the information pertaining to Phase I of the reopening of Tyland Baptist Church, and will be in effect starting June 7, 2020, through at least June 28, 2020.)
If you are sick, running fever, exhibiting any of the symptoms associated with COVID-19 (or have been in close sustained contact with anyone who has been sick or exhibiting symptoms) PLEASE DO NOT COME TO CHURCH!
(You will still be able to watch on Zoom (details below). Feel better and we’ll see you soon.)
If you are undergoing cancer treatment or have undergone such recently, suffer from any form of immune-deficiency syndrome or illness, or are in fragile health, or if you fall into the high-risk categories (old or young) WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT COME TO CHURCH!
(Again, you will still be able to watch on Zoom. Stay out a few weeks more, and rejoin the fellowship when the situation presents less of a personal risk to you.)
Continue practicing social distancing, hand-washing protocols, and safe coughing.
The pews and door handles will be sanitized before and after service. For added safety, hand sanitizing stations have been set up inside each door.
There will be NO Prayer Meeting, Sunday School or Nursery during this phase.
There will be no choir during service or choir rehearsal during this phase.
There will be no evening services during this phase.
Given the recommended social distancing guidelines, we will only be able to accommodate approximately 50 people in the sanctuary. Every other pew has been closed off, and the open pews have been marked off at 6 ft. lengths. Families who have been sheltering in place may sit together.
If you are not able to sit in your usual spot, we apologize and ask for grace during this time.
The building will open at 10:20 a.m. on Sunday morning. Service will begin at 10:40 a.m.
The only doors that will be open are the main doors (facing Silver Creek), the two side sanctuary doors, and the back facing the rear parking lot. These doors will be propped open when you arrive and when you leave, in order to avoid unnecessary contact. The rest of the building will be cordoned off and, for sanitation reasons, we ask that you do not go past the barriers.
Please...no hugging or handshaking. If at all possible, do not leave your area once seated.
It is VERY important that you bring your own Bible when you come, and take it with you when you leave. Pew bibles, as well as hymnals, have been removed from the sanctuary.
Masks are encouraged and recommended, but not required. Wear or don’t wear at your own discretion.
Please practice situational awareness if you find yourself in tight space with another person.
There will be NO communal greeting nor will we have an offertory. One collection plate will be stationed at the back of the sanctuary and one at the front if you wish to leave your offering. You may still choose to mail it, drop it in the church mailbox or give online if you wish.
The order of service will be as follows:
→ Two songs
→ Welcome and Announcements
→ Special Music
→ Closing song
You will be dismissed by section and rows in order to avoid “logjams” at the doors. We ask that you exit the building quickly. If you wish to fellowship, please do so outside in the parking lots.
Zoom is still an option, if you’d like to use it. The latest information that you have (access codes, links, etc.) are still good until June 28. If you need the information again, contact Leslie at the church office.
We’re aware that this seems like a lot, but these are unprecedented times. Our goal, as always, is to emerge safe and intact from this situation, and we need everyone’s help to do that.
Thank you for being flexible, showing grace and love to one another, and being the amazing people that you are. With God’s guidance, we’ll be victorious.
See you on the 7th!
